F.K. Bodø/Glimt y Pafos FC, two clubs that have held their winter and summer pre-season training camps respectively at the MFC facilities in recent months, have achieved a historic milestone worthy of admiration and recognition.
For the first time in their history, both teams have qualified for the group stage of the Champions League.
Bodø/Glimt has become the first Norwegian team to reach the Champions League group stage since 2007, when Rosenborg achieved the same feat. The Norwegian team is on an upward trajectory, having reached the semi-finals of the Europa League last season, consolidating its European growth. Its success is based on a culture of teamwork, smart signings with a focus on youth divisions, a strong sense of community and a combative style of play.
For Pafos FC, it is a dream come true as it qualifies for the Champions League group stage for the first time in its history after beating Red Star. Cyprus Cup champions in the 2023-2024 season and league champions for the first time in 2024-25, the Cypriot team led by Spaniard Juan Carlos Carcedo, former assistant to Unai Emery, and reinforced by David Luiz as captain, Pafos reflects the result of combining ambition and professionalism at the highest level.
At MFC, we are delighted with the success of both teams and wish them all the best in the next edition of the Champions League in 2025-2026.
